H3O is not a mere Academy of Design! Its associates and collaborators are not intellectuals without practical sense, but designers with the screwdriver in their hands, practical professionals who get dirty hands and spend large amounts of time working in the shipyards. They think by lines, shapes and colors, but no sooner they have an idea, then they run off to test its practical feasibility.

Andrea Colli

Architect Partner (CEO)

The industrial experience

Milan, 1966. Architecture at Politecnico di Milano before specializing in Industrial Design at Parsons School in New York. His family is steeped in nautical traditions: his father, the engineer Francesco Colli, produced and traded some of the first ever ribs at the beginning of the 1960s until 1983, working on, amongst others, the Laros Pirelli line. Andrea works in the field of naval architecture, boat-building, on-board equipments and motors. He also designs internal fittings, components and accessories. He has worked in a variety of shipyards, for his family’s companies (Nautica Colli, Motomar and Marshall), as well as collaborating with Ocean Master Inc., Boston Whaler Inc. and Uniesse Marine s.p.a.
In 2005, he founded Tecnorib S.r.l., licensee of Pirelli ribs, contributing to the design, planning and production of the entire range of PZero-Pirelli ribs.
He has a taste and talent for inventing initiatives, getting people to work together and shaking up the market.

The interdisciplinary creativity

Novara, 1967. Architecture at Politecnico di Milano, where he designed a public transport vessel for lagoons, and then industrial design at Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milan.
He worked on large projects in shipyards abroad and has had his own architectural and design practice in Milan since 1992. He is a keen sailor (competing in regattas) and navigator (with experience in the Mediterranean, the Atlantic and the Arctic). Since 2005 he has mainly worked in the field of industrial and nautical design, contributing to the design, planning and production of the entire range of PZero-Pirelli ribs.
He has a gift of bringing crazy, pie-in-the-sky ideas down to earth and transforming them into more realistic projects, using his creativity, ingenuity and tried-and-tested methods.
